About Me/ Company
Personal Profile
I have completed my Level 2 in Animal Care which consisted of feeding, cleaning, handling, behaviour techniques, health and welfare, biology, enrichment techniques and exotic animal management. The course involved a number of hands on sessions with an array of animals; domesticated, exotic and wild.
I have completed my Level 3 Diploma in Animal Management which consisted of a more in depth knowledge of zoo and exotic animal management, feeding, cleaning, maintaining health and welfare, behaviour and also animal training. A large of majority of the course is hands on work with an array of animals, both wild, domesticated and exotic.
I have also completed a 12month apprenticeship at the RSPCA. This consisted of feeding, cleaning, exercising, medicating, training and assisting with the re-homing of animals.
Previous Experience
Work Experience
Leicester City Council Supporting Tenants & Residents Office
During my week’s work experience whilst at Countesthorpe College I was based at the above office which was open to the general public on a daily basis. I was tasked with assisting with general office duties, completing a new window display, database cleansing and dealing with post and message taking.
Head to Tail Grooming Parlour
Whilst studying my Level 2 course, part of the curriculum was to attend Work Experience at a Grooming Parlour every Saturday to complete a programme of 150 hours. My day began at 8.30am and ended at 1.30pm. During my time there I was given the task of pre-grooming the dogs before they were bathed and clipped. I was also in charge of keeping the salon clean by sweeping the floor and cleaning the work stations.
RSPCA
During my Level 3 Course the curriculum included work experience at the RSPCA for 157 hours attending 2 days on a weekly basis. Here my day started at 8am and ended at 5pm. During my time at the RSPCA I was in charge of exercising the dogs of my own allocated block and was entrusted as a key holder during the day for the kennels. I really enjoyed my time at the RSPCA and I am continuing to volunteer there, which is giving me more experience not only with the animals, but also talking and helping the general public.
