About Us
Walking The Pooch was originally established in 2009 by Tina Pennock. To assist in busy times and to make sure there is always cover available, Clare Johnson also runs the business with her. Both Tina and Clare are CRB checked.
The service was set up initially by Tina, as she struggled to find a reliable dog walker who would take on her 2 large dogs. In addition to this, she stopped having holidays abroad and often had to decline weekends away as she was not happy putting her dogs in kennels. Dogs are at their happiest in their own surroundings so it made sense to leave them there and have somebody else look after them.
As there was a need for this service, Walking the Pooch was established. Tina currently has 2 dogs, one cat and 2 snakes and her and her husband are passionate about animals.
Clare is devoted to all animals and has had animals all her life. She currently has one large dog.

Services Offered:
DOG WALKING SERVICE
If your dog needs walking once a day or three times a day; once a week or 7 days a week; we can provide this service. 30 minute or 1 hour walks are available. The price includes collecting your dog from home, a full 30 or 60 minute walk and dropping your dog off back home.
Group Walks
Although we are insured to walk 6 dogs at any one time, we aim to have a maximum of 5 on any walk. This ensures that all dogs receive interaction and attention.
All dogs are walked on the lead initially until we get to know your dog and they get to know us. After this time, if you are happy for your dog to be off the lead, we will provide off lead walks (with your permission).
Only well socialised and non aggressive dogs can be taken on group walks.
Individual Walks
Unfortunately not all dogs are sociable so they can't be taken on group walks. For this reason we offer individual walks. Your dog is given 1:1 attention which means we interact solely with your dog and are 100% focused to deal with any situation that may arise.
PET SITTING SERVICE
Nobody likes to leave their pets but sometimes we have to. Maybe you're going on holiday or attending a wedding or a family celebration and need to stay away overnight. It maybe that you need to go into hospital or respite for a short while.
If you don't want your pets to be away from home when you go away, they don’t have to be. Whether you have a dog, cat, rabbit, hamster, bird, or other animal that you love, your pet can stay in the comfort of their own home and we will come and stay with them while you are away. Your pet will be looked after as well as if you were looking after them. You will also have peace of mind that your house will be looked after too (plants watered, bins put out, lights turned on/off, curtains drawn/opened etc).
DAILY HOME VISITS
This service is ideal for small pets such as fish, rabbits, hamsters, rats, cats, birds or snakes, that don’t require somebody to be present overnight. Daily visits can be made throughout the day, as required, to feed, water, clean hutches/cages, and to play with/give cuddles to.
We can also water plants, draw/open curtains, turn lights on/off.
This service is also ideal also for puppies and elderly dogs. Puppies can be fed, accidents cleaned up and human interaction given. Elderly dogs, although they may not need a walk, still need toilet breaks, companionship and cuddles. They may also need medication to be given.
PET TAXI
We can take your pet to the dog groomers, to a friend’s or to the vets.
If you haven't got transport, or can’t take time off work, let us transport your pet for you. We can take your pet to their appointment and stay with them to save you taking time off work.
