This means your dog will not come to harm in the name of training here.
We believe that training should be fun as well as solving a serious problem, building upon the relationship you have with your dog. This leads to greater communication and allows greater understanding of each other.

Previous Experience

Zara Lipsett

I grew up with a Border Collie cross and a German Shepherd cross who were lively and biddable dogs. It wasn’t until i got my whippet Marley that I realised how much work goes into owning and training a dog! I grew up with an old fashioned view on training dogs, using corrections and praise to get my dogs to comply..However i quickly learned that you cannot do that with a whippet! He quickly got me into Clicker Training and positive methods. We had a great time learning various tricks and going on long walks.

However somewhere along the way Marley became reactive to other dogs and people. Lunging and barking on sight of them. I was not used to this behaviour and quickly dived into resources learning how to read and train dogs as well as addressing their behavioural issues.
He is fast becoming a more calm and confident dog, he has severe issues and my early training methods with him had a long term effect.

I have worked with dogs for the last 4 years now, working with dogs with various issues, ranging from basic behaviour problems such as pulling on lead or chewing. To Reactivity/Fear Aggression towards dogs and people. I thoroughly enjoy watching dogs and owners relationships develop and behaviours improve. I have worked with a wide variety of breeds however have a soft spot for terriers and sighthounds, their strong characters and intelligence makes them a pleasure to work with (even if their characters can make them quite a challenge at times!)I am a Member of the Pet Professional Guild.

Amy Robinson

My name in Amy Robinson and I am one of the trainers at Wagging Wonders. In my day job I work at the University of Lincoln in the College of Arts and I have two dogs who keep me pretty busy the rest of the time. Teddy is an 8 year old Norfolk Terrier and Miller is a 2 year old Border Collie and both of them have very different personalities and training needs. I used positive training methods with Teddy and I found the whole experience very rewarding and it gave me a great bond with him. When I got Miller I had used all of my previous training experience that I had acquired over the last 8 years and we seemed to struggle getting anywhere. Eventually I was introduced to clicker training and using positive methods but looking at what my dog needed and tweaking things so that they worked for both of us. Through using clicker training I have managed to get my dog past his fears of traffic and seeing other dogs on leads and I now know how powerful using this training method can be.

I first started assisting with dog training when a Veterinary Nurse and Dog Behaviourist friend of mine started to offer puppy training classes at the Veterinary Practice where I used to work. I loved the experience of helping people through the whole training process and as most of us know, training can be hard going and a very emotional experience at times. My assisting at dog training was on hold whilst I completed my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the University of Glasgow but I still had my own dogs to work with which kept me motivated during my studies.

I moved to Lincoln in December 2013 and began assisting at dog training again in the Spring of 2014. I have learned so much working with Zara and all of the wonderful dogs and people we’ve had the privilege to train with since then. Dog training is all about keeping your mind and eyes open and learning how to read dogs and work with them to create a happy and contented life for your family, including any four-legged members.
