About Me/ Company

Village Pet Care was set up by myself to offer a reliable, responsible, caring dog walking and cat care service for the villages of Great Bardfield, Little Bardfield and Finchingfield in Essex.
I have spent the majority of my working life working with animals, and have also been an animal rescue volunteer since 1997 when I joined Cats Protection. Within this organization I have been a fosterer, home visitor, helpline operator, Co-ordinator, Welfare Officer and Feral officer, and I am still involved to this day.
I also volunteer for dog rescue, and run my own very small rescue for last chance emergency dogs that have nowhere else to go. In my care they are assessed, vet checked, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being put up for adoption. They also attend dog training classes.
The money I earn through dog walking and cat sitting goes directly back into helping rescue animals.

I have four dogs of my own which include a German Shepherd, an elderly Collie cross, and two Staffordshire Bull terriers. All are rescued, and one of my Staffies was chosen earlier this year to attend Crufts as part of the Kennel Club good Citizen Silver Display team.
I also have five cats, all who were rescued during my work with Cats protection.

I do not do group dog walks because I believe in providing your dog with a quality walk with my undivided attention throughout. I will walk two dogs from the same household, and there is no extra charge for this.

If you need your cat cared for while you are away, I will visit as many times a day as required, feed, fill water bowls, clean and refill litter trays, groom, and spend time with your cat. If your cat is on medication prescribed by your vet I can administer this for you.

I pride myself on providing a responsible and caring service, and references are available on request.

Qualifications & Training

Apart from a certificate in Feline behaviour and welfare, I have completed the Kennel Club Good Citizens tests up to Gold, which is the highest level, with my own dogs.
I am also a member of a dog training club which I attend twice a week, and also attend agility training once a week.
