About Me/ Company

I started Creature Comforts in March 2014, although I have been a "doggy" person since I was small. I have owned 6 Cocker Spaniels and have currently rescued a 20 month old Cocker called Jaffa.
My life is my dogs and I do volunteering work for my local dog rescue centre in Manchester.
In 1980's I was a volunteer for the RSPCA and was hoping to become an inspector, unfortunately my life took a different turn and ended up in dentistry???? However having progressed to Practice Manager I have been able to take qualifications that will and have helped me set up Creature Comforts.

Previous Experience

In 1978 I did my animal husbandry & dog clipping at Bellmead Kennels in Old Windsor. I got a job working in boarding kennels and eventually became head kennel maid. At this time I became interested in showing and breeding and got my first Cocker Spaniel from the then well known "Of Ware" kennels. I decided that showing was not for me and went back into kennels.
I got a job as a Practice Manager in a Veterinary Practice and took a course in basic veterinary nursing.

Qualifications & Training

I have a qualification in animal husbandry & dog clipping and recently took my degree and passed as a companion animal bereavement counsellor and certificate in dog psychology and behavioural training.

I am currently taking my degree in behavioural training counselling.

I am awaiting my creditation from the Animal Care College in Ascot. Berkshire and would like to become a member of APBC (Association of Pet Behavioural Counselling).
