About Me/ Company

We offer a personal but professional dog walking and pet-sitting service, covering the Romney Marsh area. We are a dedicated business, with many years experience of handling, owning and fostering pets including working with challenging dogs and in difficult situations.
We are genuine dog lovers and carers and we treat every dog as if they were our own. We are here to help you look after your pets whilst you are at work, away on holiday, unwell, looking after your family, or simply need some time to yourself.

Previous Experience

Karen Wrack and Stephanie Canniford are the founders of Take the Lead Romney Marsh Ltd. We met when working together at a dog-walking service and discovered that we both held the same ambition of running a gold-standard service, as we would want to use for our own dogs; we want to enhance the quality of life both for pets, and their owners and families too. Our experience tells us that regular, quality communication with the customer is just as important as the quality of the time we share with their animals. We have both worked and volunteered for a number of animal welfare organisations including; animal charities, kennels and dog walking services.

Other Services

Dog Walking
We offer a variety of walks – we come to you and from there we can either walk them straight from the home or drive them to a suitable off-lead area.
Walks can be tailored to your dog’s needs, they can be booked as a regular slot, or you can use the service on an ad-hoc basis.
If you want a group walk, so that your dog can socialise, we can take them out in a small group (4 dogs per walker) and will introduce no more than one new dog at a time. We are very careful to match dogs appropriately and will have already discussed any concerns with you during our consultation.
If your dog requires a solo walk, we can take on board any special requirements they may have; basic training tasks can be naturally incorporated into our walks

1 hour dog walk - £12-00

Pet Sitting
We understand that a change in routine can be stressful for your pets when you are away, and so arranging the right pet sitting service to care for your animals is always a top priority. We’re here to make your life easier by providing dedicated, responsible pet sitters to look after your pets and your home.
During this time we will keep your animals to their routines and ensure your home stays clean and safe. If you wish, your pet sitter will keep you informed by text, email or social media during your time away.
All of our sitters are insured and background checked so you can feel comfortable with them taking care of your home.

Prices

24 hour pet sitting charge - £35-00
Hourly day sit charge - £10-00
15 min pop-in/feed - £5-00

Pet Taxi
Our vehicles are a safe and secure way to transport your pet to and from vet appointments or other locations if you are unable to do so.
All our vehicles are fitted either with a suitable dog guard, secure dog cage or 'dog seatbelts' to ensure that your pets are kept safe whilst travelling.
We are here to help when you are at work and cannot attend a vet visit or if you are unable to transport your pet on your own.
Pet taxi is a service that we run with or without the accompaniment of you as an owner. We are fully insured for this service for your own peace of mind.
