About Me/ Company

My name is Suzanne. I am English, 43 years old.

I love all animals especially dogs ! I grew up with dogs, a Labrador and a Bernese mountain dog.

I am an easy going person with a good sense of humour, interested in health and nutrition, Buddhist/Zen philosophy, bio energetic meditation amongst other things !

I am a very reliable friendly practical person and I am very patient and adaptable.

I have a rescue cat called Olly, who I love, but I always miss having a dog !

I am a big softy - a compassionate gentle soul and I would really love to have some doggies in my life :)

Previous Experience

As I previously mentioned, I grew up with dogs.

I am naturally good with animals , generally through my adult life I have been surrounded by pets, usually other people's !

I have over the years pet sat for friends and family including animals from a pet rat, gerbils, cats, dogs, snakes, lizards, fish .... The list is endless !

In my professional life I have worked as a nurse (RGN). Also I have worked with disabled children, and with adults and children who have learning disabilities mostly in the autistic spectrum.

Presently I work part time for a charity for homeless people.

Qualifications & Training

I don't have any academic animal qualifications, but I do have experience and a natural ability to quickly bond with animals.

At present, I have been helping a friend who has a troublesome pet dog, a rescue Doberman/Mastiff cross who is a very strong beautiful dog but unfortunately has developed dog aggression problems.

This has been a great learning experience for me as I have learnt more about how dogs communicate with other dogs, how to understand body language of a dog and what it may signify, and how to contain and manage difficult behaviour in non abusive ways by using positive reinforcement.

Other Services

I am willing to feed, walk or dog sit. I am also happy to look after cats and other pets in their own home.

I am also available to give respite care for parents who have children with learning disabilities, I know how hard it is looking after children who have special needs, and sometimes a few hours break in the day can make all the difference.

I am happy to have a full CRB check done for peace of mind for parents/carers.
