Animal Behaviourist and Dog Psychologist

Here at sticks and bones we do things a little differentlyâ€. We don’t have kennels, or single play time, we have everyone together all the time socialising, playing and learning. A wise man once said, “never work against mother nature, you only succeed when you work with her” and we follow that motto to the letter everyday!

We believe all dogs are born balanced and one with mother nature with an in bedded natural order, its just when they are exposed to the hectic lives of humans with very little to no quality ‘dog’ time they get a little wayward. As well, the lack of knowledge about our four legged friends means their needs can sometimes be pushed way back behind ours. What you end up with is an unhappy and unbalanced animal who will let those frustrations out in destructive waysâ€.ever had your shoes chewed, dog pull on the lead or bark and jump up at everyone? Is your dog nervous, fearful aggressive or highly strung? These behaviours are not normal for a dog and this level of over stimulation can become dangerous.

So we welcome all dogs to come and learn what it is to be a dog again! We have a strict routine for our boarders and daycare which includes lots and lots of outdoor time, running in fields, sniffing in bushes, running and playing with each other and generally all the things dogs enjoy doing as well as much needed correction and appropriately timed affection. As well as long walks we also have playtime where up to 10 dogs can all play fetch with one ball with out a fight breaking out!

Dogs need routine in their lives and they need a leader to follow as much as they need water to drink. We can help you reconnect with your canine companion in a way I’m sure most never thought was possible. It really is a true blessing to be at one with you dog(s). As I’m writing this now, I have a kitty on one side and a puppy on the other sleeping soundly, and I really do feel like I’m the luckiest person in the world, and I’d love to share this with you all.

A little bit about me!

I grew up in Chorleywood spending all of my free time in the garden or on the common. Animals have fascinated me since I can remember, I recall spending hours watching bugs in the pond and searching under logs and in bushes for any insect I could find! I started horse riding when I was young and got my very first pet, my lovely leopard gecko, when I was 8. She’s still with us, 20 years later, spending her days with the other leopard geckos I’ve rescued. Over the years I’ve spent time with, and studied many types of animals but dogs have always been the biggest fascination of mine.
I currently reside in West Hyde with my two cats, two dogs, many reptiles, insects, birds and fish and my amazing partner. Without his dedication and support I wouldn’t be where I am today, and for that I am truly thankful.

Specialist in rehabilitating aggressive, nervous, fearful and hyperactive dogs, as well as wayward felines. All manner of doggy care from walks to home from home boarding. All types of animal holiday feeding and care from snakes to horses and dogs to small furries. I am also a Specialist in marine aquaria, including diagnosing and treating sick and diseased fish.
