About Me/ Company

South Oxon Pet Services offers Dog Walking, Boarding, Pet visiting and Equine services in Didcot and the surrounding areas.

Run by Amanda Elderfield who has over 23 year’s experience with dogs and training, I volunteer as a home checker/assessor for ‘English Springer Spaniel Welfare‘ which I have been doing for over 5 years now. I also run a group dog training session for obedience training, as well as gundogs and people who want to train but not work their dogs.

South Oxon Pet Services offers a professional dog walking service, reliability is key. We are fully insured, CRB checked and references can be given.

Because we know just how important your pets are to you we offer a free initial consultation for both walking and visiting to discuss and understand your pet’s needs. At this point we would also like to walk with you and your dog so that you can see how we both get on for peace of mind.

DOG WALKING

We offer walks of either � hour or an hour. Discounts will be applied for block bookings and dogs from the same family. We offer either a one to one dog walking service or a group of up to 3 sociable dogs. Dogs are transported securely to walk in the wonderful Oxfordshire countryside, safe areas are walked, Ridgeway, Blewbury/Chilton Downs, Wittenham clumps and River Thames meadows.

DOG BOARDING/DAY CARE

Many people worry about putting their dog's in kennels as some dogs do find it stressful. Home Boarding is a popular alternative where your dog lives here, with us, as part of our family. We maintain your dog's routines as much as possible & encourage you to bring everything your dog enjoys at home. At the end of your holiday you will be given a personal log of what activities your dog has done here & receive FREE emailed photos from their stay.

PET VISITS

We can look after your Cats, Rabbits, Mice, Birds, Guinea pigs and fish while you are away.

Care includes:

•Watering and feeding.
•Administering medication
•Basic grooming.
•Handling and cuddles if your pet likes attention.
•Play sessions.
Pet fish and small rodents can be boarded at your home or mine, according to your needs.
Many people like care in their home for the security services included FREE

Cats prefer to be cared for at home when their owners are away. This enables them to express their normal habits and live without the added stress of an unfamiliar environment and curtailment of freedom.

We offer up to 3 visits a day maintaining their routines and caring for your cat as you would. We can also adjust curtains & lights, attend to your rubbish and recycling & generally make your house lived in whilst you are away.

EQUINE

We can provide a range of services for horses living in or out, on a short or long term basis, please call for further information and availability.

WEDDING SERVICE

I am proud to offer a unique opportunity to create a 'wow' factor for your guests and include your best friend & family member in the most important photo shoot and most joyous day of your life. The wedding day package includes grooming services, return transport in safety as well as 24 hour Dog Boarding services.

On the big day, Amanda will act as a chaperone to ensure your dog is comfortable, cared for and of course, appropriately behaved, whilst assisting your photographer to get the shots you want with family and friends.

Generally, an hour or two on your wedding day is adequate for your dog to share the experience, greet your guests and be photographed without causing him/her too much excitement or anxiety.

Thereafter, your companion will be looked after in my home for the remainder of your special day and evening.
Subject to availability, additional Dog Boarding services are an option while you enjoy your honeymoon.

We can provide dog walking and pet visiting regularly or on an ad-hoc basis.

Previous Experience

Owned dogs for over 20 years, have trained Poppy my rescue Ess BOG OFF dog to a very well trained pet dog, Sprite has just completed his first season beating as well as entering working tests.

I run a group training session fortnightly for obediance and gundog training.
