About Me/ Company
My name is Penny Taylor. I live in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, and I'm available to walk dogs both morning and afternoon. I prefer to operate within a 10 mile radius of Huntingdon, and can take your dog on walks either alone or with some of my own well trained dogs.
I have access to miles of river bank and common land where dogs can exercise safely away from livestock and the dangers of roads.
I can tailor the walk to the needs of your dog: either on lead, or off lead once I know your dog and its behaviour and steadiness.
I believe that a well exercised and well trained dog is a happy dog, who knows his or her place in life. Training through play is a big part of a dog's education, and all our walks involve a certain amount of play and learning to keep the canine mind stimulated and occupied.
Previous Experience
I have owned dogs for over 40 years, and specialise in sighthounds and lurchers and terriers. I walk my own lurchers and terriers in a group and understand pack mentality, which is very different to owning and walking just one dog at a time.
I counsel dog owners on dietary issues as well as rearing, training and behavioural concerns.
Qualifications & Training
I have no formally recognised qualifications, but have a life time experience of handling dogs of all types and breeds, and can offer excellent testimonials should these be required.
Relevant Info
I have published a book called Running Dog Maintenance, (www.skycatpublications.com) which is aimed specifically at lurcher and sighthound owners. These dogs are the fast athletes of the dog world, and as such, are liable to sustain injury more easily than the slower dog. Even a run across a park can result in injury to muscles and tendons if the dog is not fit or conditioned properly.
My aim is to equip lurcher and sighthound owners with the knowledge and skills they need to maintain these athletes in health and sickness.
