About Me/ Company

My name is Shanel and I LOVE dogs! Unfortunately, my sweet cocker spaniel "Coco" is living in the states with my mom right now and this leaves me with a big hole in my heart :(

My boyfriend found this website for me and thought it might be a great solution. I enjoy walking dogs, playing catch with them, rubbing them behind their ears and letting them cuddle up next to me. I hope you will give me the chance to meet you and your pet. I would love to spend some time with them by walking and caring for them while you're at work or away.

Previous Experience

I'm the friend everyone calls when they need a pet sitter for the weekend or when they go out of town. I have lots of experience with animals and growing up our household was always filled with cats, dogs and rabbits (usually homeless strays I found on the street). I have also been a dog and cat owner for 11 years so I know how to handle all situations.

My most recent pet sitting experience was in May 2013 for some close friends of the family. They had 2 dogs, 4 cats, 2 birds and some fish but that wasn't the most challenging part! They had just found/adopted a 4 week old kitten. He needed to be bottle fed 3 times a day and assisted in using the toilet. It was challenging but rewarding when he would cuddle up to my neck and fall asleep after being bottle fed. The family let me name him Oliver and I receive frequent update photos of him :)

While in High School we were required to participate in service projects every year. I focused my volunteer efforts around our local animal shelter. I would walk, bath, play with and feed cats and dogs who were looking for their forever home. This experience gave me exposure to a wide range of dog breeds and behaviors.

Qualifications & Training

Despite not having any formal certifications, I have been a dog and cat owner for the past 11 years. Both of my pets (who live with my parents in the states right now) were rescue animals and sometimes need extra care from ailments, ear infections, eye infections, being bottle fed etc. This has also made me an expert in cleverly giving medication to animals.

Aside from being a 24/7 animal lover I'm also an architect (I'm not practising right now though). I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design and a Master of Architecture. Yes, I have designed and built Coco her own house :)

Relevant Info

I live in Battersea so pets in the SW or Central London are most ideal. However, I don't mind travelling a bit (depending on distance) to help walk or care for your dog.

Other Services

Since I have experience caring for pets, my boyfriend has agreed that we could open our home to overnight pets. We have a lovely garden and live close to Battersea park so your pet can have the best of both worlds...Long walks in the park and a nice a grassy yard to do their business in.
