About Me/ Company

We are a team of two highly experienced and qualified specialists in animal care and welfare. Between us we offer group dog walking, dog training, and cat-sitting services

Our top priority is the happiness and well-being of all the dogs and cats we work with. We provide your pets with individual care whilst you are away at work or on holiday. You can be confident that you are leaving them in good hands, who will not only care for them, but make sure they have fun as well!

We both have full Liability insurance and are both police checked

Scraggywaggs is owned by me, Jemma Redhead.

Previous Experience

In 2010, I decided to end my eight year career in social care and follow my dream to work with dogs and cats full-time. Since then I have been professionally walking dogs, instructing owners how to train their dogs and allowing cat owners to enjoy their holiday's, knowing their furry felines are in safe hands!

Since February 2009 I have been involved with the Manchester and Salford Branch of the RSPCA, initially as a home visitor conducting pre-adoption and post-adoption assessments, then went on to briefly serve on the board of trustees, as well as assisting at their pet health clinics, becoming a volunteer dog walker, dog training and behaviour advisor and a full-time cat and kitten fosterer.

I currently share my life with Thomas, a Jack Russell that has plenty to say, Dibble and Snibs my 3-legged feline twins, Albert my food loving cat and my four goldfish. All my animals are from rescue's.

I have completed my dog training instructor qualifications with the APDT UK (Association of pet dog instructors), COAPE (the Centre Of Applied Ethology) and Compass education. I am a member of the Pet professional guild (the association for force-free pet professionals) and a student member of the APDT, UK.

As a student member of the APDT UK, I am required to complete thirty hours of continual professional development every year and to submit reviews of courses, workshops or books that I have read. This ensures that my training knowledge remains up-to-date. I also adhere to a strict code of practice and am subject to the complaints procedure the same way as full members. My training methods are consistent with their principles of kindness and fairness to both dogs and clients.

Relevant Info

We cover West Didsbury, Chorlton, Whalley Range, Hulme and Stretford

As a cat owner you will know that cats can be fussy, quirky and set in their routines. Most cats are territorial and creatures of habit and are happiest in their own familiar surroundings, which is where our fantastic cat sitting service comes in!

I have been offering a professional cat sitting service since 2010. I also have 3 cats of my own, all adopted from rescue centres, and have fostered a number of cats and kittens over the past few years for Manchester & Salford RSPCA.

All clients receive a professional, friendly and reliable service designed to assure you that your pets are in safe hands. Whilst you are away I will keep you up-to-date via email, text or facebook.
