About Me/ Company

I am a 16 year old but will be 17 in August this year, college student looking for a part time and/or summer jobs. I am a hard-working, trust worthy and reliable person who is keen to learn and will work extremely hard to the very best of my ability. I have many different skills that will help me within jobs such as
• Spoken Communication
• Time management
• Problem solving
• Adaptability
• Responsibility
• Organisation
• Teamwork
• Initiative

Personal hobbies and interests:
I have taken part in many different sports including netball, hockey and swimming where I was part of my school teams. My main sport was Judo which I took part in for 10 years, taking part in many competitions across Wales and England where I achieved gold, silver and bronze medals and many trophies. Judo was a big part of my life where I excelled greatly and enjoyed the challenge of competing in many competitions and experiencing the overall thrilling sociable environment it created. I also took part in the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award and completed it, which I enjoyed accomplishing as it challenged me in many new skills, it was a great experience which involved a lot of teamwork that brought everyone together to complete the task. I was also given the responsibility of representing my year group in the school council for the 5 years of being a pupil in Cwmtawe School where I took part in all the decisions discussed to improve the school and its environment, which also included speaking to a member of the Welsh Assembly. I was likewise a Perfect in year 11 in Cwmtawe. I have travelled to many different countries around the world with my family; we travelled across the right coast of Australia before deciding to travel to New Zealand, Fiji and China, we also travelled to Hong Kong and Manila before we came back to Wales. I found this an amazing experience as I found seeing and being in the different cultures very interesting and educating. I would like to carry on my experience of new cultures and travel to other countries such as America and Africa.

Previous Experience

• I have worked for 6 months as a volunteer in Pontardawe Local Library, where I gained a vast and various amounts of different skills including communicating and dealing with the public and using my initiative as I completed a variety of tasks allocated to me. This included but is not exclusive to stacking shelves, making phone calls to customers and managing behind the counter dealing with returned and loaned books. This helped me gain loads of confidence and helped with gaining the responsibility of being in a work environment.

• I also worked in Dan-Yr-Ogof caves, in the Morgan farm at the Shire Horse Centre, for 2 years after starting as work experience in year 10 and then volunteering afterwards. I was then given paid part time work, unfortunately I was unable to continue this job commitment because my family moved away and the transport distance became a problem. I gained a vast amount of skills from working here and improved my whole ethos of working and gained many skills and increased my abilities greatly in my confidence, independence, communication, dealing with people visiting from all over Wales, Britain and Europe. I undertook all tasks given to me while working here which included cleaning and maintaining the stables and other animal cages throughout the farm, tending, feeding and watering all the animals and ensuring they were well kept. I also had to oversee the farm during opening times, which included contacting senior members of staff if there is a problem. This also involved checking visitor’s tickets and showing them around. During closing times, I led the horses in to the fields and herded the sheep and llama’s, and cleaned any rubbish left behind by the visitors and animals.
