About Me/ Company

Hi, I'm Sally.

I'm 30 years old and have a huge soft spot for animals, especially dogs, oh and orangutans. I've grown up with dogs all my life, can't imagine not having them in my life.

My proudest moment has to be rescuing my dog, Jummy, from Thailand. Yep, I'm serious. One minute I was sipping away on cocktails, island hopping and the next I found a new furry friend, well actually it was probably Jummy that found me. It was love at first sight and she didn't leave my side for the following two weeks, it became quite the talking point at our beach hut resort. I couldn't bring myself to leave her, our bond was immediately strong, so island hopping came to a halt so that I could spend more time with her.

I had no idea how I was going to be able to leave her, and after witnessing her getting attacked by a pack of stray dogs - I knew I had to bring her back with me. She had clearly had a very tough life, she had a wonky back and a little limp and of course like most strays, was dangerously thin. I headed to the local internet cafe and Googled 'how to bring back a dog from Thailand...' - long story short - two flights and six months in quarantine later, she could finally begin her new life here in the rather chilly, London.

At the time, I had a full time job in Marketing and couldn't offer Jummy the routine and attention she needed, so she now lives with my family in Devon. She has an amazing life and loves watching the sheep, long country walks and then retires on her cushion, or by the fire in the winter. Not bad, eh?

Now a bit about me - clearly an animal lover. I'm a bubbly person, self motivated, trustworthy and super passionate about everything I do. From a very young age I loved being outside with the dogs, exploring and getting muddy. Weather and dirt does not bother me at all, quite the opposite.

Over the last year, I've been thinking about taking a huge career change - the 9-6 office job just isn't me, and I couldn't think of anything better than working with dogs, so here it goes!

Previous Experience

As mentioned above, I've grown up with many, many different dogs. So I consider myself a natural and appreciate that every dog is different.

Walking and dog sitting for friends & family

Shelter work, Thailand style. After rescuing Jummy, I headed back over to work a month at the animal shelter on the island. They helped us bring Jummy back, and whilst I sadly can't adopt them all - I wanted to help in any way I can. It was VERY hands on, and I learnt a lot. Responsibilities (to name a few) included:

Walking, both in packs and one on one for the nervous dogs
Full grooming and treating any skin problems
Cleaning play and sleep zones - dirty work after a big storm, but i loved it
Assisting the vet, giving post-op care and medicines
Looking after the very poorly dogs
24hr monitoring for newborn puppies that had been dumped outside
Playing and basic behaviour training - lots have vey nervous energy
At the shelter, there were over 150 dogs - so I gained extensive experience with different breeds and characters. Whilst I may not have loads of fancy qualifications, I'm got a lot of life experience with dogs, and I'd care for each dog as if they were my own.
