About Me/ Company

I'm an experienced and knowledgeable dog walker based in Widnes and also covering surrounding towns. I offer bespoke walks tailored specifically for your dog/s - not big group walks. For this reason I can walk dogs who are turned down by other walkers e.g. I accept entire males/ in season bitches/ dog aggressive dogs/ dogs with high prey drives/ dogs who need further training. Your dog will be treated as my own. I'm careful, reliable and fully insured. I just love spending time with dogs :)

I grew up with dogs and adore them in all shapes and sizes. I have two whippets brothers (the eponymous Roscoe and Grover!) and last year we adopted a whippet x girly who we called 'Emmy'.

I'm happy to walk dogs of all breeds and sizes. I have lots of experience with different breeds of dogs so understand they all have particular needs and habits. My particular strength is sighthounds (whippets/ lurchers/ greyhounds etc) but I genuinely love dogs of all breeds/ sizes/ ages.

I have been a teacher/ lecturer for more than 10 years but love being outside too much to stay in teaching so am now a full time dog walker :)

Unlike other companies I do not charge more for Bank Holidays/ weekends. My prices are very competitive, especially considering the fact that I can be so flexible to the needs of individual dogs as I don't take big groups.

I have safe transport so I can either walk your dog locally or take them out to a little further to nature reserves/ parks etc.

Previous Experience

As well as experience gained through a life spent with dogs, I have also fostered and transported whippets for Scruples Whippet Rescue and am a volunteer dog walker for Merseyside Retired Greyhound Trust. I regularly take part in charity dog walks/ shows.

I have undertaken training in positive training methods for dealing with on-lead fear aggression.

Many years ago when I was a student, I worked in dog kennels and did volunteer walking for the RSPCA.

I have 3 dogs of my own and have been brought up with dogs.

Qualifications & Training

* I have completed a seminar course in Canine TTouch with the renowned Sarah Fisher.

* I am currently studying Canine Psychology and Behaviour.

*I have undertaken training in positive training methods for dealing with on-lead fear aggression.

* I can work weekends and outside normal working hours.

* I will treat your dog with the same high level of care as I would treat my own.

* I am patient, kind and do not use any harsh methods. I DO NOT believe in 'dominance theory' training - I will only use positive training methods.

* I love being outdoors, will happily walk in all weather and will tailor the walk to the specific requirements of your dog.

* My prices are very reasonable especially considering the fact that I prefer to walk dogs singly or in small family groups (pairs/ threes) so they can get individual attention (rather than picking up several dogs from different places.)

* Roscoe & Grover's is fully insured to hold keys so I can walk your dog when you are at work. Keys WILL NOT have your name or address on, but instead will be carefully coded.

* Happy to walk dogs with problems such as anxiety and fear aggression towards other dogs as I will not be walking them in groups.
