About Me/ Company
Ever since I was a child I have been fascinated with animals but dogs have always been my favourite! Having grown up with my own dog since the age of 7, my love and passion towards dogs have grown over the years and I couldn’t imagine a household without one! Besides owning a Jack Russell, I also own a leopard gecko.
Previous Experience
I studied animal care for 1 year at Brooksby Melton College. I learnt about several types of animals & dog breeds and their different temperaments, and how to care for each dog according to their personalities/breed.
I completed 100 hours of work experience walking different dogs around my neighbourhood which I found to be a fun & therapeutic experience. Here, I have learnt how to handle multiple dogs at a time whilst maintaining control. I would often deal with challenging dogs and have learnt strategies to handle certain behaviours. This knowledge allowed me to build trust worthy relationships with owners. I was able to show commitment to my role despite any weather challenges I had to tackle.
I have also taken part in dog grooming where I would assist groomers in bathing, drying and pampering dogs. I have handled dogs of all ages and am aware that they have contrasting needs & qualities.
Over the years, I have gained many skills such as patience, working under pressure and paying attention to detail, in order to give out the appropriate care for each individual dog.
I believe I am a perfect candidate for this role due to my lengthy experience and devotion towards dogs. Being able to help owners and care for their dogs would be a rewarding opportunity and I would treat their dog as if it were my own!
Qualifications & Training
I studied animal care for a year at Brooksby Melton College, however I changed my course so I did not receive a full qualification.
