About Me/ Company

Hi I'm Ruth!
At Pet Adventures I'm here to provide the best service for your pet, whether they have feather, fins, fur or even scales! I Offer a range of services from group walks, dog hikes (weekends only) to overnight pet sitting.

I have grown up living with animals of all shapes and sizes.
Currently I share my home with three adorable dogs, Harvey, Barclay and Kuno, a white’s tree frog called Houdini, our canary, Jefferey and two rats Tobi and Finnlay.
In the past my menagerie has included cats, hamsters, giant African land snails, tarantulas, snakes, giant African millipedes and even cockroaches!

I love nothing better than spending my day exercising and caring for animals.

Previous Experience

I have been working with animals since I was 14years old, when I volunteered at a local wildlife rescue center.
I have gained experience working in many areas of animal care since then, from giving much needed love and attention to stray dogs at a local kennels to offering exotic animal handling sessions to children and adults.
Currently I assist at a local Puppy School and I attend a local agility club with Barclay my Labrador x Staffie.

Qualifications & Training

Most recently I have completed a BSc Hons Degree in Animal Behaviour from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, before that i completed a BTEC National Diploma in Animal Management from Cannington center in Somerset.

Other Services

Group Dog Walks - 30 mins, 40 mins and 1 hour sessions

Individual Dogs Walks - 1hour sessions.

Home Visit - for cats, small furries, birds and exotics. I will visit to feed, clean cages, change litter trays, play and cuddle your pet as well as water plants and put out rubbish.

Puppy visit - Got a young Puppy left alone while your at work? I'll pop in and clean up any mess, let him/her out for a bathroom break, play, cuddle and even give your puppy a simple training session.

Overnight Stay - For dogs, I'll Feed, Walk, Play and Cuddle your Hound while your away in the comfort of familiar surroundings. I will also water plants, put out rubbish and take care of any other pets, such as Rodents, Cats and Exotics.

Dog Running - Some dogs just love to run so I offer a special 30min jog with your dog designed to get their heart rate up.
(not suitable for elderly dogs or puppies under 2 year)

Puppy Running - Due to strain on joints I can't take puppies under the age 18 months on a full run, but for those extra bouncy puppies I offer a 15min gentle jog across soft fields designed to tire them out.

Dog Hikes - Spoil your dog with a stimulating, leisurely hike along one of Somerset's many picturesque trails. I take your pooch on a 2 and a half hour walk that will get their noses working, their heart racing and their tails wagging.
