About Me/ Company
Hi, I'm Emma and I'm 29 years old and I live near Beaconsfield with my partner and our 3 dogs.
I've lived in this area now for 10 years and although I do work full time, I work a rotating shift pattern so I'm finding I have a fair bit of spare time on my hands.
As an animal lover, I wanted to do something that not only helps animals, but their owners too, so have set up this business.
I'm an active person, and enjoy spending most of my time outside.
Growing up, I was always around dogs, from a small age we had dogs in the home. These varied through the years from a Cavalier King Charles, through to German Shepherds and Airdales, to Great Danes. Each of our dogs were members of the family.
No dog is too big, or too small. My 3 are all toy dogs, 2 pugs and a Chihuahua x JackRussell and all rescues.
I volunteer for a local dog rescue, I've done this since the beginning of 2009. I currently carry out home checks for them, so I attend potential adopters homes to make sure they are suitable for the dog.
I've also volunteered on their reception, in the kennels, walking their dogs, gardening and assisted in fundraising events.
I work by what is best for the dog, as one training method might not work for every dog. Positive reinforcement is what I base my training on, so praise, toys, treats etc. I make everything positive for the dog, instead of negative association, for example lots of praise when the dog does something correct instead of keep 'telling the dog off'. I like to know that the dog is enjoying their training, not dreading it!
I have three horses, my first horse is a Hanoverian, Chestnut mare, she's currently out on loan to a friend, she's a lovely horse not a typical chestnut mare. She used to be a show jumper with her previous owner.
My next one is a bay ex-polo pony, when I first brought her she was very head shy, but now she's not head shy, she's currently out on loan to another friend.
My third horse is also a chestnut mare ex-polo ex-race Thoroughbred, when I first got her she kicked and bit, now she doesn't kick at all, she rarely bites anymore; she has finished her polo career in 2014, so she can have a quieter life.
