About Me/ Company

Hello, my name is Emily, I started Pawproof because I wanted to do something I love. Caing for animals is a passion of mine and every pet is treated as one of our own.

We offer a personal & professional service in the North West of Newcastle & borders of Northumberland. Our business is at the center of our hearts & we treat all of our animals, personal and in our of care as our own.

We (Shaun & Emily) met during our degrees in Bangor, North Wales where we both studied & graduated with Honors in Sport Science (Outdoor Activities) Bsc. During our summers away from university we spent our time in France where we both worked as Outdoor activity instructors. In this job we would take up-to 24 kids at a time on adventures, such as climbing, kayaking & high rope courses. This time abroad made best use of our qualifications and experience.

Once graduated we decided to move back to Shaun’s home town of South Shields to be closer to his little boy (Ryan). After six months we finally purchased our first house in Throckley for anticipation of Ryan starting school.

After turning our house into or home, Emily finally decided to leave her employment at HSBC to start her own interests in Dog Walking & Personal training.

In our home we currently look after four of our own pets, We have Rudy our Labradoodle puppy, Storm Trooper & Darth Vader (Named by Ryan at the aged 3) are our Guinea Pig & Rabbit and finally Elvis the cat.

Duties Include:

To take care of customers’ needs whilst at the counter.
Working with the morning reports and back office work
Using the machines and helping customers with them where needed.
Contacting customers over the phone when needed to provide information.

Oct 2010 – Feb 2011 Queenanne Catery - Cat Keeper

Duties Include:

Maintaining cages and habitats.
Medicating, feeding, grooming, socializing and re-homing.
Breeding pedigree cats.

June 2009 – Sept 2009 Acorn Activity Center - Senior Activity Instructor and Water Based Instructor.

Duties Include:

Run activity sessions including Raft building, climbing and high ropes.
24/7 on call for customer needs.
Site maintenance.
Equipment maintenance & Testing.
Taster session planning for all water based activities.

Sep 2008 – Oct 2010 Infusion Promotions - Night Club promoter.

Duties Include:

Promotions on the streets
To design and organize promotional materials such as banners, flyers etc
Staffing timetables and pay
General office work.

June 2008 – Sept 2008, Bewdley Rae Breed Farm - Keeper.

Duties Include:

Upkeep and maintenance of farm yard, fields & pens.
Creation and implementation of breeding programs of small animals inc. Rabbits, Guinea-pigs, chickens & large inc. sheep, alpacas & pigs.

Qualifications & Training

2007 – 2010 Bangor University

Sport Science ODA BSc (Hons)

Modules Include: Research Methods, Land and water based activities, Expedition and practical physiological lab assessments. I also completed a dissertation looking into ligament damage designing and testing my own hypotheses.
