About Me/ Company

Paw pals NW Essex is a professional and bespoke pet service, providing dog waking, dog boarding, pet stting and small animal boarding.

Sandra and her family Sabie, Tsala and retired guide dog Meg along with cats Shumba and Shankley, welcome you to Paw Pals NW Essex!

Sandra grew up in Liverpool and as a child she had dogs, cats, rabbits, mice, hamsters and anything else she could convince her long suffering parents to allow her to care for! She always enjoyed the outdoors, hiking and camping whenever she could.

For the past 16 years Sandra has pursued a career as a secondary school teacher but maintained her connection with animals and the outdoors through her pets and holiday time spent in the world’s wild places.

Previous Experience

From 2008 she spent two years in Africa volunteering on a game reserve in South Africa and travelling around Southern Africa in an old Land Rover, which husband Matt spent most of this time fixing! During that time Sandra was involved in predator monitoring, game counts and captures including a very memorable buffalo relocation. She also trained and worked as a guide achieving Level 2 Field Guides certification in Southern Africa as well as becoming licensed to guide walks in dangerous game areas.

Qualifications & Training

Sandra is trained in Pet First Aid and currently studying towards a Pet Home Sitting & Dog Walking qualification, accredited by The Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour and Training. So you can rest assured, your pets are in safe hands.

Sandra's garden is equipped with rabbit hutches and runs so your small fluffy friends can enjoy a holiday too, and can make your dog part of her family by having them stay with her whilst you go away. She is fully insured and licensed for dog and small animal boarding in her home and is annually inspected by the local council.

If Sandra has the pleasure of looking after your pets in your home, she is both police-checked and fully insured to do so. She is also a full member of The Pet Care Trust, a membership body for professional, pet specialist businesses.
