About Me/ Company
Hi! I'm Alice, and I'm currently studying at Plymouth University...
I'm from Northumberland, and I'm very outdoorsy - love my animals and getting out and about. Unfortunately, being at uni in Plymouth means I miss my own dogs back home! So walking other people's, and looking after them would be great!
I have had dogs all my life, and get along with them very well usually - let me know your pet's likes/dislikes so I stay on its good side :).
I have many hobbies, arts and crafts, my clarinet, reading and watching movies to name a few. I'm just a normal student looking for her ideal part time work in between studying.
Previous Experience
I haven't previous experience walking dogs/dog sitting specifically, but I did over 200 hours volunteering with the national trust, and more often than not I was partially dog-sitting for the visitors to the property while they participated in dog-free activities. Which, I'll add, I did enjoy!
I have experience with my own dogs, naturally, having been around dogs since I was about 6. I used to train one of them, and he won many rosettes when he was younger, but now he's getting on and enjoys nothing more than lying and being pampered by me, or getting a pedicure from me (he has paw problems). If your dog has special requirements (certain habits, medication, specific daily routines) I could easily cope. All three of my dogs had different personalities, and requirements. The dog mentioned previously had to take different medication at different times during the day, while one of the others had special dietary requirements.
Qualifications & Training
I don't have any particularly relevant qualifications unfortunately, as this is something I've only just decided to venture into! But I always try to be the best at whatever I decide to give a go to.
For example, while at the national trust, I worked outdoors (currently working towards a bushcraft instructor qualification), I worked with children, I worked in the office, and eventually ended up working as a forester (gaining a forestry qualification with LANTRA). I play clarinet, and stuck it out long enough to get my Grade 8 with merit certificate. So i'm a keen learner! And love to excel at what I do, and love to learn.
Relevant Info
If you are interested, I'm afraid it would have to be within walking distance of where I live, as I don't have a car. My timing is fairly flexible, but also may be awkward - I can't change my lecture timings, but they are infrequent so I'm free most of the time, and almost always free on weekends.
