Kind, positive reinforcement; care, and training
I have been studying dog behaviour for a few years and have taken on two rescue dogs who needed a lot of support and patience. I can offer basic (clicker) training and boundaries. I have 27yrs experience as Secondary school teacher, an education/SEN specialist, working with young people. I am a qualified teacher with enhanced DBS.
Previous Experience
I have grown up around dogs.
A few years ago I found a small dog running in the road. She had apparently been dumped after puppy farming. She was "shut down" and incredibly nervous. I decided to keep her and try to rehabilitate her.
After two years, I decided to rescue a Romanian street dog (from a kill shelter). That dogs was very reactive and needed a lot of calm and consistent work.
The two dogs eventually bonded and I then took them both through bronze, silver and gold Kennel Club training awards.
They still help me with other dogs that need support and socialisation.
Qualifications & Training
I have trained through the kennel club bronze silver and gold levels.
I have 5 yrs experience working with rescue dogs.
I have worked as a trainer and walker privately and through Rover.com.
I am a qualified Teacher.
Other Services
I'm happy to offer walks, basic training and happy to help with antisocial or unwanted behaviours (where I can).
I can offer dog day care in our lovely new Stable conversion home in West Kilbride. We have a fenced garden of medium size, a large utility room, large conservatory and very large living area where dogs can feel at home. The immediate area is very rural, surrounded by woods and fields with lots of great walks.
