About Me/ Company

My name is Melanie Sears MISAP (member of the International Society of Animal Professionals) I am the owner of For The Love of Pets! Pet Care Services.
I have always lived and grown up with dogs. Dogs are a big part of my life. I have enjoyed a 21 year long career working, handling and rehabilitating dogs. I adore working with dogs and enjoy the companionship a dog will bring. Walking has always been an activity I enjoy and have discovered that with the company of a dog the walk becomes just that bit more exciting!
I am confident and very experienced handling all breeds of dog from the smallest to the largest!
I am particularly experienced and knowledgable with sight hound breeds. I have experienced handling skills with sight hounds working with Saluki's, Greyhounds, Lurchers and whippets.

I offer dog walking services on a flexible basis and social time spent with your dog. As well as dog sitting in your own home. Your dog will have all his or her creature comforts!

Previous Experience

I have worked with dogs for 21 years and began my career with dogs working in Boarding Kennels. I then became an Animal Welfare Assistant for The Blue Cross Animal Charity. Whilst I was at The Blue Cross I trained to be a Veterinary Assistant. I was with The Blue Cross for 2 half years.
I worked for 8 years as a live in dog carer looking after 3 Lurchers plus my own dog. My duties included walking, feeding and managing any medications and veterinary needs. In this time I helped work with the owners on behavioural problems and daily training for all 4 dogs.
I am also a member of the International Society of Animal Professionals.

NVQ Level 2- Animal Care

'Think Dog' Alpha Education- Canine Behaviour and principles of learning theory, intro to canine aggression, behaviour problems assessment and methodology- OCN qualified 12 credits at level 2

Centre of Excellence-Veterinary Assistant Diploma.

Centre of Excellence- Canine Training and Behaviour Diploma.

Centre of Excellence- Pet Bereavement counsellor Diploma.

Currently working through- Canine Behaviour and Management Degree.

Member of ISAP- International Society of Animal Professionals.
