About Me/ Company

Hi! I am currently a full time degree student studying animal management. I have always had a love for animals and would love to work within the animal industry.
I would be available to walk and look after your pets any species, breed or age. I have experience with many animals, from family pets to farm animals. Working in dog groomers and veterinary practices has made me confident in the work I would like to carry out.

Previous Experience

(2 weeks experience) at a grooming parlour, where my duties include, washing and drying dogs, brushing coats, cleaning ears and nail clipping, reception duties, and giving good customer service.

(89 day experience) in the PDSA Veterinary Hospital
Duties included:

• Kept check on all inpatients
• Fed, watered and changed bedding (general care)
• Took temperatures
• Assisted in surgery e.g. monitoring heart rate
• Cleaned, sterilized and packed surgical equipment
• Cleaned all areas of the hospital
• Prepared lab samples and using the centrifuge.
• Restrained animals whilst the Vet worked on them e.g. holding whilst vet fits catheters
• Collected urine samples
• Developed x-rays
• Attended consultations
• Carried out stock checks
• Gave good customer service
• Supported customers when necessary

(4 weeks experience) I travelled to Ireland to work on a sheep farm, helping with lambing and carrying out basic farm work.
Whilst working on the farm I worked with a team of people who were employed on the farm. I carried out tasks such as, general farm duties, administrating medications/injections, assisting ewes when lambing, movement of lambs and ewes to fields and bottle feeding pet lambs.

Qualifications & Training

I currently hold a National Diploma in Animal Management at a grade of MMM.
I am on my second year of a Animal Management degree.
I also hold 10 GCSE's graded A-C
