Hi I'm Nicola. Lomond Dog Walking aims to deliver a high quality experience for your family dog(s). My dog Maisie hated going to the dog walker, it became so stressful for her that her behaviour changed and eventually we agreed that she just wasn't suited to it. The problem was, she's a shy girl but was being taken out with a large group of rowdy boisterous dogs, which terrified her! I want to ensure that with careful planning, I have compatible groups of dogs so that each individual has fun and is excited about their walk.
The walks will all be in the local countryside, and will be off-lead to allow for maximum freedom and play. Walks will last for a minimum of 1 hour, and may last longer depending on where we are. There will NEVER be any more than 4 dogs out on a walk at any one time.

Your dogs will be transported in a smoke free, air conditioned and fully ensured vehicle.

Previous Experience

My family has always had dogs, literally from the day I was born!
We lived in the Middle East for many years where we took in stray dogs and helped rehome them with loving families.
As a teenager I worked in dog kennels, where I learned all aspects of caring for different breeds of dogs.
We have a family dog, Maisie, a gentle and slightly aging Labrador Retriever. She's great with other dogs and has welcomed them into our home for play days, or having friends dogs come for their holidays.

Qualifications & Training

Lomond Dog Walking is fully insured.

I'm registered and covered by Disclosure Scotland, so you have the peace of mind that your dog is being cared for by someone honest and trustworthy.

I'm trained in Canine First Aid, so will be able to deal with most emergencies during walks. This is not to replace veterinary care. I will carry a fully stocked First Aid Kit with me at all times.

Relevant Info

We all like to know that our dogs are happy , and have had a good day. To give you that reassurance, I will carry a camera with me on the walks and can send you photographs of your pooch. I will give you regular reports of the walks.

For the health and safety of all the dogs in my care, I require that all dogs participating in a group walk are fully up to date with their vaccinations.

As the dogs will be allowed to run off the lead, please ensure that your dog has good recall. If in doubt, please discuss this with me at the time of booking. I will be happy to help you with this aspect of training.

Emergency First Aid will only be administered with the dog owners prior permission.

I will visit your home at a convenient time prior to your dogs first walk. This will allow me to meet your dog and discuss his personality and any special needs. From this meeting, I will be able to ensure that he walks with the most appropriate and compatible group.

Other Services

Lomond Dog Walking and Pet Services is a new business, so I am happy to discuss your requests for specific services. At the moment our services include:

1 hour Group Walk
1 hour Solo Walk
Half hour Solo Walk

Weekend and evening walks are also available by prior arrangement. So you can still enjoy your evening out, or day trip, in the knowledge that your dog will be well taken care of.

At home services are also available. This can be absolutely anything, from feeding the family pet snake to playing with your new puppy/ kitten to make sure that they are happy and socialised.

A Pet Taxi is also available. So if you need to get to the local vet but don't have a car, don't worry. I can collect you from your home and take you to your destination. If necessary I can wait for you, to take you home again. This service is by prior arrangement and will be charged at a minimum of half an hour.
