About Me/ Company

I am 15 years old looking to save up to go to My last year of College in America and then to become part of a conservation for Turtles and Crocodiles in Mexico. This is part of the Project Abroad gap year studies. I enjoy being around animals, I have never had any sort of bad experience with an animal, for example: an attack, or spooked and animal. I have plenty of pets myself and also look after close family friends and relatives pets whilst on holiday.

Previous Experience

I have a lot of previous experience with animals, for my Work experience I worked in Wicstun Veterinary Practice for a week. My job entailed calming the animals down before and after their operation/check-up. Also leading the animals from the surgery back to their owners and re-familiarizing the pet with their owner if the animal was in long-term care. Also feeding and changing Blankets was a big part of my job, I witnessed ways to train animals quickly and easily for the owner and the animal to remember. This left a large impact on how easy it is to train animals without discipline and allowed me to bond with the animals I was training instead of creating a Master-like fear that most animals posses towards their owners.

Relevant Info

Horses have always been a large part of my life, I grew up on a farm with horses and took horse riding lessons from the age of 4. I do still ride whenever I can but there is the disadvantage of everyone not having a paddock and horse ready to ride in their back garden... I was disciplining horses from the age of 7 when my mum and dad bought me possibly the most stubborn horse known to man-kind. We named him tiger, and didn't he have a mind of his own. We were rivals for a long while training Tiger to not stop dead in front of jumps and throw whatever poor soul happened to be riding him over the jump. By the time he was to be sold on, after 6 weeks of training, Tiger was the most obedient horse I'd ever seen. A complete change in character, he had a few minor escapades when he was sold on because he was getting used to his new environment, we still get calls from the new owners telling us how much of an amazing horse he is to ride.
