About Me/ Company

I have just been made redundant from an office job in a Resident Care Home that I worked at for 4 years. I have been wanting to work permantly with animals for the same amount of time but got comfortable with the office. This is now my chance to persue my ambition to work with animals.

Previous Experience

I have been fostering small animals for Animal Action Trust since December 2009. Some of the animals that came in to my care had various behavioural or skin problems, which were treated with the help and guidance of myself and Animal Action before they were ready for adoption.

Whilst working at the Care Home, i also had a part time job at The Barn Equine & Large Animal Vetinary in Great Wakering for 2 years. I worked as a General Assistant. I loved this job but due to lack of hours and inconvenience of working 2 jobs, i had to leave and continue with the office job.

My job on a day to day basis consisted of:

Dealing with clients in person/telephone and booking appointments
Type up vets notes
Autoclaving instruments
Counting of worm egg counts
Mucking out of stables
General upkeep of the practice
Distributing medication on advice of the vet

I am currently studying Distance Learning Animal Care Level 2.

Other Services

I am looking to work inthe Animla Industry, either within the Guide Dogs sector or animal behaviourist/trainer. Any experience within these sectors would be a great help.
