About Me/ Company

My goal in life has always been to work with animals. I have gained a Level 2 Diploma in Animal Care. I am a fast learner, work hard and work well in a team, I also like to be challenged and work off my own initiative. I have a bubbly and fun personality and a good sense of humour. I also have good communication skills especially with the general public as in all of my previous jobs I have had to interact with the public. I am a very reliable person and like to push myself into gaining more experience.

Previous Experience

P.D.S.A (Peoples Dispensary for Sick Animals)
As a part of my college course I had to find work experience, so I volunteered to work for the PDSA. I applied at the start of November 2009, and was volunteering there at the end of November and I finished my volunteering at the end of February 2010. My duties there were to clean out the animals, take the dogs for walks, clean the surgery’s, get together the surgeon’s kit’s, clean the surgeons kit’s after an operation, hoover and mop the surgery’s and waiting room, take x-rays, develop them and file them.

Chart Sutton boarding Kennels and cattery
I was employed at Chart Sutton boarding Kennels and Cattery in 2011 and finished in October 2012; I was employed as a kennels assistant. My job role was to clean the kennels and cattery, but most importantly to look after the cats and dogs that we had staying with us. I walked the dogs, played with them and fed them; I also gave medication to any dogs that needed it. I fed the cats and cleaned their cattery. I also had to deal with the public as it is a boarding Kennels and Cattery. I did office work which included, taking payments off customers, making bookings and taking or making phone calls.

I gained an Edexcel Level 2 BTEC First Diploma in Animal care and achieved a grade Pass.
