About Me/ Company

I a, currently student at Huddersfield New College where I study A-level media, sociology and BTEC health and social care. I have been at the college for two years and will be leaving this summer. When I leave college I am very interested in career working with animals because I have always had a fascination for them as well as having a passion for the welfare of them. In my spare time I like to exercise as I believe in keeping healthy. I am also interested in world affairs and I like reading. I love music and watching documentaries. On weekends I like to spend time with friends and family.

Previous Experience

Present

I currently volunteer at a the RSPCA, where I help with the welfare of animals which is very rewarding. I do several things while I am there, such as; dog walking , grooming and socialising. I also carry out general cleaning tasks in the kennels. I help the staff out with behavioural and training tasks, this helps the dogs in finding a new home. another important part of what I do is follow health and safety procedures as laid down by the centre and ensure that they are observed in all aspects of work.

February of 2011
I did works experience at Donaldson and Partners veterinary practice. At the practice I got to watch operations being done on a number of different animals, this gave me an insight on what animal care entails, it also made me eager to pursue this career. I sterilized surgical equipment for operations and I carried out general cleaning tasks within the surgery. I observed appointments with the vet and weighed animals on scales. I also watched samples from animals being taken. This experience only heightened my willingness to pursue a career in this sector.
