About Me/ Company
I offer a unique service, tailored specifically to each dog and owners requirements. I can offer safe, off lead exercise in an enclosed field as well as traditional walking/home visits.
I have experience of rescue dogs and I am currently studying Canine behaviour. I am preapred to walk dogs who don't like other dogs and/or people (I've known lots!)
I've owned dogs all my life and fostered a few. I currently have 3 rescue dogs of my own, one of whom has special needs as she is mildly brain damaged. I train and compete in agility. My life would not be complete without dogs and I look after every dog in my care as if it was my own.
I'm now in my mid 40's and want to finally fulfill my life's passion of working with dogs full time and launch a dog walking/day care business.
I have the use of a fully fenced, 1 acre, private field, to offer dogs who do not normally get the chance to run free some time off lead, either alone with me, or in a social group of carefully selected friends to play and interact with. I also hire the field to owners on an hourly basis to excercise their own dogs.
I also take dogs to attend routine vet appointments, trips to the groomers, or accompany them to visits to physiotherapy or hydrotherapy sessions. I know from personal experience how difficult it can be, to find the time required for these extra appointments.
I am fuly insured.
Previous Experience
30 years of multi dog ownership, most of whom were/are rescue dogs with problems. I have also owned cats, ponies and small furries.
23 years experience of dog training. I started in the Barbara Woodhouse era and have worked different dogs through various methods of traing right up to the present day, using positive, reward based methods and also have some clicker training experience.
10 years as a Trustee of a German Shepherd Dog rescue charity in Surrey, doing everything from walking, grooming, administering medication, transporting dogs to and from new homes, attending vet visits, hydrotherapy sessions, as well as all the admin and carrying out homechecks for new homes.
For the last 2 years, I have been studing Canine Behaviour science.
Qualifications & Training
I am a qualified Bach Foundation Registered Animal Practitioner which involved acquiring an in depth knowledge of animal behaviour. I studied at the Natural Animal Centre in Carmarthen, South Wales, which is the only recognised centre for this qualification in the UK.
I am am a second degree Reiki Healing Practitioner and James French (Trust Technique, animal healer and communicator) is my Reiki Master.
I have almost completed stage 1 of the Canine Behaviour Qualification offered by the Natural Animal Centre, South Wales.
I have passed the necessary exams for qualificationand I am currently working on a case study to complete the process. I am also working my way through stage 2 of the same course.
Other Services
As I mentioned in the section above regarding qualifications, I am a Reiki Healing practitioner and Bach Flower Remedy practitioner, for both animals and people.
Both therapies are gentle, non invasive and safe. Both are excellent for restoring natural energy balance.
I run a complimentary therapy clinic for animals from my home address and have a cosy consulting room in the garden.
I try to make it as comfortable for the animals as possible, so a sofa to lie on while having a Reiki treatment, or a duvet on the floor if they prefer.
