About Me/ Company

Hello, my name is Karen & I adore animals. I live in the beautiful Cotswolds on a smallholding surrounded by open fields. My home is a barn conversion with a large secured garden. My previous job was to care for the owner's animals (dogs, cats, horses, sheep & chickens) throughout the week whilst they were at work. Those owners sold the property in May of 2015 & I was kept on by the current owners who have dogs, a cat, chickens & Pygmy Goats.

I have owned a variety of animals my whole adult life. My current constant companion is my Tibetan Terrier Dylan. My pets are my family & are treated as such. I am an ex RSPCA dog walker.

I 'retired' from my office job 5 years ago in order to concentrate on my first love which is animal caring. I had been doing it as a hobby for many years for family, friends & neighbours.

I am mature, responsible, reliable, trustworthy (CRB checked) & can guarantee that your pets will be loved & cherished as if they were my own. Entrust me with your pets & you will not be disappointed.

Previous Experience

Over 35 years experience of caring for my own pets. Experienced horse rider.

My previous role, which I obtained through an ad in 'The Lady' Magazine, included the care & welfare of 2 dogs (Labrador & Munsterlander), 3 cats, 4 horses, chickens & sheep. There were 70 applicants for the position & 15 attended for interview, including myself.

In 2007, I spent 3 months in France in sole charge of a large property & gardens along with horses, cats, a dog, chickens, ducks & geese. This was an internationally placed advertisement & was secured after attending 2 interviews with the owners.

I spent Xmas 2010 as a relief at another smallholding in Devon where I cared for ponies, donkeys, sheep, pigs, various fowl & caged birds.

I currently walk a Labrador, a Border Collie & a Golden Retriever locally twice a week, as well as doing occasional day & holiday care in my own home.

Relevant Info

I am only able to take 1 small to medium sized dog into my home on an ad hoc basis & he/she needs to be animal friendly as there are other dogs, cats, chickens, goats & sheep on site.

I am unable to accommodate puppies or working dogs.
