About Me/ Company

K9to5 is an independent, professional and friendly dog walking and pet care service, offering a reliable and caring approach in the local area.

We cover Woodley, Bredbury, Romiley, Marpple, Compstall & Gee Cross, other surrounding areas will always be considered so please contact us with your requirements.

Whilst in our care your pet will receive the very best from our experienced carers and you can rest assured that our hands on, common sense approach will provide your furry friend with all the love, care and attention that you yourself would give.

We are fully insured through a specialist pet business insurer, which provides public liability, key holding and animals in transit cover. All carers are DBS checked, hold pet first aid certification and wear K9 to 5 uniform at all times whilst walking or visiting your furry pride and joy.

As pet owners ourselves we truly believe that happy pets are healthy pets and we will deliver a specialist service for your special friend. We leave daily logs so you can read all about what your furry friend has been up to whilst you’ve been away our out at work.

During all our walking activities, be they group or individual, we reinforce positive learning. Throughout every session we will reward behaviour as you would and use key words for recall etc. to ensure that your dog never stops learning or feeling appreciated and loved.

Following each walk we will spend time ensuring all paws, bellies and bodies receive the necessary cleaning to minimise dirt transition into your home, this also gives your dog and carer some 1on1 bonding time which is essential for building and retaining trust.

Previous Experience

I have been a dog walker for 2 years having previously spent 20years in Admin. I love being with animals of all shapes and sizes and have owned all sorts over the years; rabbits, guinea pigs, cats, dogs and even snakes and lizards.

I currently own 2 boisterous, strong and very high energy Staffies and although they are quite happy in each others company they do not respond well to a group setting so I also understand that sometimes less is more.

With the ability to understand the ups and downs of being a pet owner, I can provide a wealth of hands on experience which, when combined with a caring and common sense approach, makes for happy pets and happy humans.

Qualifications & Training

I hold a current pet first aid certificate and I am currently in the process of completing a dog behavior and handling diploma which is allowing me to gain a deeper understanding of your dogs requirements from their body language, these skills allow me to ensure that all dogs walked within the group setting are integrating well and enjoying their experience from the start to the end of each walk.

I will constantly assess each group and will change the dynamic in the group should I feel it necessary. If you have concerns regarding the group walking environment, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will be happy to discuss these with you.

GROUP DOG WALKING (max 4 dogs)
Our group walking sessions are designed with SAFETY & FUN as the key emphasis, each session last 1-hour and allows your dog to interact with a group of like minded pups in a safe and stimulating environment. All groups are carefully tailored and constantly assessed by the carer to ensure that each member of the group is getting the most from their experience. These sessions are ideal for well socialised dogs who are happy and secure in the presence of others. They are also a fabulous way of introducing puppies to the great big world that is out there for them to enjoy.

1-2-1 WALKING
Here at K9to5 we understand that sometimes less is more, that’s why we offer our highly praised 1-2-1 walking service. These 40-minute sessions are a fantastic option for those dogs, who for whatever reason, would not be happy in a group. We make it our mission to ensure that your dog has as much fun out and about with us as they would within a group. We tailor the walk to their specific needs and will vary our play and walking environment regularly. Another key bonus to these walks is that they allow us to dedicate 100% of our time and attention to your dog, so if required we can help with training issues that you may be struggling with.

Other Services

CAT & SMALL ANIMAL VISITS
Our cat sitting and small animal visiting service is a great alternative to catteries and other boarding as it allows your pet to stay in their own surrounding and still have access to daily human contact. Visiting once or twice per day our 30-minute visits will consist of the necessities of feeding and cleaning with the added extra of loving care and attention at the level that your pet is used to. During our visits we will also ensure that your property is secure by carting out a general check of the property and any outside areas.

PET TAXI
This service is available to all whether you utilise our other services or not, and will be carried out with all the care and professionalism expected. All our vehicles are fully insured and fitted with traveling crates to ensure stress-free and safe travel to your destination. We also hold a cat/small animal carrier just in case!!

DOG SITTING VISITS
An ideal option for elderly dogs or puppies who have not yet been fully vaccinated, these 30-minute visits provide your dog with 100% dedicated companionship which is suited to their specific needs. We will ensure your dog is given access to outside space and ensure that toileting is achieved so as to avoid accidents in the home. Any cleaning up or feeding requirements will also be fulfilled and a small street walk incorporated if require. These visit end with quiet time allowing your dog to be calm and contented on our departure.
