About Me/ Company

Hello, I'm Terese and the owner of Just Like Home Pet Services. After spending nearly all my working life in the Financial & Insurance industry, I decided to follow my heart and dreams and start my own business before my 50th birthday! Having been a dog (and cat) owner most of my adult life, I wanted to put my experience and love for animals to good use.

In recent months I've invested a lot of time in improving still further, my understanding of dogs and their behaviour patterns - and my number 1 rule is treating every dog as if they were my own. I'm currently a weekend volunteer at Battersea Dog & Cats Home, and have attended and taken various Canine Behaviour & Dog training courses; and so I'm now putting this experience to good use!

My clients all come from referrals business, and I know you will feel comfortable enough to pass my details onto your dog loving friends.

Importantly, I'm fully Insured, CRB checked and a member of the National Association of Registered Pet Sitters. So for a personal and trustworthy touch in caring for your dogs, cats and other family pets - from walking, to visits and sitting with them; on a daily or longer term basis whilst you are away on business or holiday, then please contact me.

Previous Experience

As well as my numerous years of experience with dogs and cats, I have experience with rabbits, Guinea Pigs & other small "furries"; and I will also cater for birds and fish - in fact anything considered!

Finally, I currently volunteer at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home (Brands Hatch branch).

Pet Visits / Pet Sitting

As I know only too well, the welfare of your pets is upper most in your thoughts when arranging business trips, weekend breaks or longer family holidays, particularly any time away from home that has too be arranged at short notice. That's where I can help!

My dogs are at their happiest when they are in their home environment, and yours will be too - with me attending to their every need in their own home, without worrying about how they are coping in kennels or a cattery.

The service I offer:
•a detailed planning meeting with you to establish your pet's care plan whilst you are away - looking at eating & play patterns, their exercise and toilet routines and diets
•daily exercise and interaction
•feeding and providing fresh water
•a price to visit and care for all the pets in your home
•additional security measures like sorting your post, switching on lights, putting the rubbish out and closing curtains
•a detailed report, emailed through to you, of their time spent at home and out with me whilst you are away

Importantly you can enjoy your time away from home worry free, knowing that your pets are keeping as close as possible to their normal routine - and I'm sure they will show their love and thanks upon your return!


NB: We can also offer a Pet Taxi Service and would be happy to board your small animals ('Furries' / rodents) whilst you enjoy your holidays.

Dog Walking

As we all know, a regular programme of exercise, fitness, social interaction and fresh air is so vital to our four legged friend. And I know due to my own previous circumstances, how difficult it is to balance a work/family lifestyle with the needs of our loved pets during a normal working week.

Important points to note:
•our dog walking service is tailored individually to each dog, including length of walks and preferred locations (if any) and whether your dog is happy off the lead
•I'll make the walk as active as you require/suggest - from ball chasing, incorporating your dog's favourite toy, through to a quiet leisurely stroll in the countryside
•I'll either walk your dog individually, or if its happy to be sociable, as part of a small group (never more than 3 dogs)
•I do not include travelling time as part of the time spent with your dog, and they will not spend unnecessary time in the vehicle (for instance picking up other dogs or filling up at the petrol station)
•I will supply healthy treats and fresh water during, and at the end, of the exercise
•And don't worry about the weather - I'll happily exercise your dog in all weathers, and they will be returned to their home nice and dry and clean!

And finally, I'll leave a brief feedback report confirming the time I was with your pet, and any highlights from our day so that you can catch up with their day on your return back home.
