About Me/ Company

My name is Julie. I am semi-retired, live in Scarborough and now have the time to fulfil my dream to work with animals. I am a real nature girl, live close to the sea and love walking on the beach, along the cliffs and winding country paths, a dogs paradise!
My home also overlooks dog-friendly parkland to the rear, perfect for smaller or older pets who prefer a shorter walk.
My friends would say that I am kind, patient and loving and possess a good sense of fun. I am also reliable and trustworthy. If you should entrust your beloved pet to my care, I would consider it a privilege and love them as my own. I cannot think of anything I would rather do that could be more rewarding.
My hours are very flexible, days, nights and weekends or longer and I aim to please. Will be very happy to meet you and be introduced to your pet.
My rates are negotiable as I am hoping to follow a long-held dream rather than setting up a business venture. My love of animals comes first.
As I am a newbie to this site, I am looking forward to meeting my first clients.

Previous Experience

I am a newbie to dogwalkingnow but I have loved and cared for pets most of my life, dogs, cats, rabbits, budgies and hamsters! In fact, my love of animals actually secured me a flat - see my true quirky tale below.
Many years ago when looking for a flat to rent, myself and about 6 others were booked for various viewings. I was the last person to view and as the door opened, a friendly labrador bounded up to greet me and I bent down to give him a cuddle. Unbeknown to me, the landlord spent a lot of time away and was looking for a tenant who loved animals and would feed, walk and give a cuddle to Gus the labrador and Scamp the cat. This turned out to be a very happy arrangement for many years. Jean & Bern became my very good friends and treated me as one of the family and all because I cuddled their labrador. How very unexpected!
Also, when I was working at York University, I knew a blind student who also had a labrador, Quella. She was still learning to be a guide dog and was a bit of a handful. I was employed to take her for long walks to hopefully tire her and lessen her mischievous tendencies indoors. She was rather boisterous but a lovely natured dog and it was great fun!

Although I have no formal qualifications, I hope that the information given above will prove that a little common sense, practical experience and a genuine love of animals, together with a sense of humour can be just as important as a paper qualification.
