About Me/ Company

Hello, my name is Jodie and I live in Harpenden. I'm reliable, professional and passionate about animals. I have recently returned from a year travelling and am taking this opportunity to start a new job doing something I really love which is working with animals.

Also being new to the Hertfordshire area I have been so impressed with the beautiful countryside that I want to walk around and explore it more - what better way than with some canine company!

I have a real love of animals and regularly volunteer for a local endangered animal charity as well as various marine conservation charities.

Previous Experience

I grew up with dogs and my family have always had German Shepherds so I am used to (and particularly love) large breeds. I have also had experience of looking after rescue dogs having had my own Husky/GSD rescue dog as well as regularly looking after a friend's rescued mastiff/rottweiler/GSD mix (he may not sound it but he is a big softie!)


As well as dogs I have a great deal of experience with small animals and parrots, in particular African Greys. I helped breed and hand-rear African Greys for many years and have looked after all of the different family pets over the years such as rabbits, chipmunks, fish, various parrots and finches and even quails!

Qualifications & Training

Experience of looking after dogs and other animals. I regularly look after friends and family's dogs while they are on holiday and can offer recommendations from owners whose dogs I have cared for.

Other Services

I can offer services such as overnight house sitting if your dog is happier in it's own surroundings. I can pop in and feed animals while you are away (I would also water plants, take in post and other jobs as arranged). If you have a new puppy I would be able to visit to feed it, let it out for toilet breaks or take it for a short walk during the day.

I am more than happy to have your dogs come and stay in my house whether for a day to keep them company, for an overnight stay or for a holiday stay. I do not have my own garden however I am home all day, have access to a grass area right outside and am very close to a park/common where I would take your dog for toilet breaks. Of course this would be in addition to their long walks twice a day. (this will change in Feb 2013 when I move into a bigger house with a secure garden)

If you would like your dog walked I can offer either one-to-one walks or group walks and I am local to some great dog walking areas such as Heartwood Forest, Rothamsted Park and Nomansland Common.
