My girlfriend and I have just moved to Barwick-in-Elmet and are very keen on getting puppy in December to coincide with the Christmas break as we'll have two weeks off to help get it settled in.
We both work weekdays 9-5 (although my girlfriend is a teacher so would have periods where she's home due to the holidays), so we're looking into dog walkers/puppy home visit services in the area.
Others have mentioned that rather than a long walk for a puppy, to help with overcoming isolation anxiety and allowing the puppy to go out to the toilet, a shorter visit mid morning and mid afternoon would be more appropriate instead (with us being able to do the same before and after work). In time, once the puppy is older, this could then turn into a longer walk instead.
We've both always wanted a dog, but have never owned one, so despite speaking to a lot of people and doing lots of research, we'd happily welcome your advice too.
