Senior Dog Walker Wanted
We are a small pet care company based in London SE18 and are looking for an experienced dog walker to join our team. You will need to be available Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from approximately 9.30 am to 4.30 pm, plus an extra hour on Wednesday and Thursday evenings 6-7 pm. Earnings for this basic week will be in the region of £200. Additional work maybe available outside of these hours, such as further dog walking and cat feeding. You will also be asked to cover Thursdays and Fridays on occasions when the normal walker for those days is on holiday.
The job involves driving around the local area collecting dogs and transporting them to local parks. You will do three walks, 45 minutes during each, during the course of a normal day.
To apply for this post you will need to:
*live in one of the following postcodes – SE18 SE7 SE3 or SE10.
*be able to give us a minimum of 12 months commitment.
*be over 21 years of age.
*be happy working mostly solo except for the company of the dogs!
*have the experience and capability to be able to handle up to 4 large dogs off lead
*have your own suitable transport to accommodate the dogs. Vehicle expenses are not paid, but we may be able to help with dog guards and/or cages.
*be organised and flexible to cope with last minute changes in requirements, schedules, etc.
*be fit, healthy and enjoy being out in all weathers often with wet and muddy dogs.
*be capable of dealing with situations as they arise, such as difficult dog behaviour in public places.
*have an excellent sense of responsibility as you will be handling keys, communicating with owners, etc.
*speak fluent English in order to leave notes in customer log books at the end of each walk and to communicate with customers and the general public where necessary.
*lastly, but more importantly, you will love being around dogs and putting their welfare first and foremost throughout your working day!
You will receive a minimum of two weeks training, the first unpaid, the second paid. The company will provide continuing support and advice whenever you need it, you will not be left to simply get on with it!
You will work on a self employed basis. We will require two references and would like a basic police check for our clients’ peace of mind.
Please email us, giving details about yourself and telling us why you think you would be suitable for the above role. We look forward to hearing from you!
