I have two little dogs, Cookie & Lulu. They are both 4 years old. We are going on holiday on 13th August for one week and are looking for an experienced dog walker/carer to take them out for their daily walk while we are away. Our daugther will be living at the house but works long hours and will not have time to take them out but will be around to hand over if early in the morning. If not, I can arrange key collection.
Cookie is very people friendly but is nervous of other dogs. He was attacked when he was a year old & since then has lost confidence when meeting new dogs. He likes he\\\'s own space and sometimes this can cause problems when enthusiastic dogs approach him. He is very loving to humans and loves meeting people.
Lulu is a very nervous dog. I am not sure if she had a bad start but she barks at people that come to the house and hides behind me. If anyone tries to approach her she retreats and growls. But this is all a brave act because in reality she would like lay down very submissively to humans and dogs. She never barks or growls at other dogs. She just cowers in fear.
Hope this hasnt put anyone off as they are so sweet. I tend to walk them through grass verge streets but at weekends my husband takes them to the park trying to avoid other dogs but this isnt usually achieved but he rarely reports any problems. He is not as nervous as me!
If anyone can help and it is successful, I would be looking for a permanent daily dog walker.
