Hello, I am making inquiries into the viability of what dog day care is available. After a 2+ year break, I may possibly be returning to work. It is unclear right now as this is subject to a tribunal. But if I have no choice but to return to work, I need to sort out some day care/visit for my 4 dogs. I have 4 small chihuahua & chihuahua x dogs, although they are big for their breed (more Yorkie size). Maisie will be 6 in July, Ted will be 5 in July and the "twins" Rosie & Poppy will be 4 in August. Poppy & Rosie were an accident due to my ignorance at the time as to Teds abilities at 11m to father any pups! So as I was morally responsible for their existence, I have kept them, and they are a proper little family. With your experience, I imagine you would appreciate the tenacity of the chihuahua breed and "little dog syndrome". They are a little highly strung, until you get to know them. Although they are all walked by me (only me, nobody around to help!) they all return to the lead, and don't tend to stray. Saying that, I do admit that they have a pack mentality when out walking, so I always try to pre-empt any behaviour and avoid other dogs. Ted, although very laid back at home, takes his Alpha male role seriously and wants to protect all his bitches (including me!), but this is mainly due to Rosies anxiety (she is the lowest rank in the pack) as she barks at any dog, which fires Ted up. I only explain this so you get an outline of my family. I am looking for someone who could spend some time with them, to break up their day, perhaps walk them on the lead, until you were comfortable enough (how ever long that takes). I live in Yateley, within walking distance of both the green and Blackbushe. I am not yet sure of what hours I might have to do, I am a nurse, and some of the shifts are 12 hours, others would be mon-fri 9-5. so the chances are if it was 12 hr shifts, it would not be every day, and my daughter is home in the evenings and weekends.
Can you please have a think about what you feel could work, I HAVE to consider cost, but their welfare will always come first, I am sure you understand. I wish I could say money is no object! but of course, this is the real world!! I hope I had made some sense to you! My name is Wendy
