The Pet People is a small local company based in Hare Hatch. We offer dog walking, day care and dog sitting around the Maidenhead, Wargrave and Henley areas.
We are looking for part time dog walkers to provide the highest quality service to our existing customers.
If you don’t like the thought of getting muddy, wet, or cold then this is not the job for you. Our dogs are lively friendly dogs who like to share their mud with you, they expect you to play with them and to make their walks fun and interesting. We walk dogs all year round in all weathers, the dogs don’t care if it is hot and sunny or wet and windy!
As our dog walkers walk a number of large lively dogs at a time in places where there are members of the public it is ESSENTIAL that you have experience of working with dogs and are confident in handling young, large, energetic dogs. Just having owned dogs or walked and looked after dogs for friends and family will not be enough.
Our customers are often out at work during the day so I need people who are 100% reliable and honest. A police reference check will be required and references will be followed up before any offer of work is made.
Hours of work will generally be between 11am and 3pm, Monday to Friday although extra hours are sometimes available and flexibility is expected to be able to deliver the service that our customers expect. There may be the opportunity to earn extra money dog sitting (subject to your home and garden being suitable) and cat sitting.
Positions are offered on a self employed basis. We are looking for people who can give a long term commitment; this is not suitable for people looking for temporary employment.
All dog walkers must be able to demonstrate that they can keep calm in a crisis, deliver excellent customer service, be totally reliable and take responsibility for own mistakes.
