Backup dog walker needed!
Dear dog walker who is experienced in reactive/fearful/special needs dogs,
My wife, our dog and me are living in Hurley (postcode is SL66FN) and we are looking for a backup dog walker in near future. Our current dog walker is quite busy at the moment and therefore we are looking for an additional one as a backup. Currently Rosa is being walked by our dog walker on Tuesday and Thursday each week for 1 hour over lunch time, early or late afternoon.
Our dog is a 8-year old Boxer-German Shepherd mix and needs very dog experienced walkers. She originally is from Spain and although we got her as puppy of around 6 months, she has some "specialities" which seem to be related to some experiences in her early age. She is quite shy to foreign people getting close to her / staring at her / touching her (if so she may growl), but once she knows somebody, she loves him/her absolutely. Also with other dogs she reacts with barking and rather prefers playing with her "person" - she could endlessly run after balls. But once she knows the dogs as well, she loves them absolutely.
She is very well trained and we spent a fortune with dog trainers which clearly pays out. We can easily walk her off the leash as she focuses on "her" person and follows all commands. However, her anxiety around foreign people and behavior vs. other dogs will probably never be fully resolved.
Therefore, we are looking for somebody who has experience with reactive or fearful dogs and is reliable to walk her and use our methods we have in place each day. Then she is an absolute wonderful dog and much fun.
