Hi everyone,
We have two rescue dogs but my youngest one, Leo, who is a year and a half has his fair share of behavioural problems. He came to us as a four month old puppy from a home where he was beaten, he mom was put on Ritalin throughout the pregnancy, they slept on chicken wire, no food, filth everywhere etc. as you can imagine, even through intense training with two trainers, he still has issues. He's very insecure around other dogs and will bark and pull on the lead. He also does not like small children. This causes us to have to drive out to Tyrebagger to walk him where there are no other dogs around as he is getting stronger everyday. He is a Rottie/BorderCollie/Labrador mix but most people just think he looks like an overgrown black Lab. He's about 60 pounds and very smart and trainable but we haven't been able to shake his insecurities with children and other dogs.
We're looking for someone to take him for a 30-45 min walk twice a week either while we're at work or in the evenings. We are willing to pay £15 per walk as we understand the added pressure and stress that comes with a dog with behavioural issues and we would need him to go on an individual walk and not in a group setting or off the lead. Leo is a sweet giant. He's just insecure of the world around him. He gets along fine with our other dog so we know it's insecurity. We are starting him on Clomicalm this week to hopefully help ease his anxiety further.
