Details:
As of next week, I will be living in St Albans and working in Hatfield Business Park. I am looking for Doggy Day Care or walking with socialisation included.
Ella is a medium sized speyed 2yo bitch mongrel that I brought back from Spain. She is a calm dog, doesn't bark, lick, chew (or play unfortunately) with good obedience - she can walk to heel without the lead and loves human company, walks and bones.
She is a rescue dog. Her first 15 months were spent on a balcony, the next 6 months in a dog rescue centre. She is not good with other dogs especially on the lead or near high energy playful dogs or small yappy dogs. I have had her walking off the lead with other dogs (usually older, bigger, males) but her reactions are unreliable and need work to keep on top of.
The last 11 months, she has been almost 24 hours a day with me - pubs, restaurants, shopping, country walks, visiting friends. I am going back to work and while she doesn't suffer from separation anxiety (infact she will happily follow anybody who will give her a treat), I don't want the socialisation work I have done with her to go backwards through boredom.
Ideally I am looking a Dog Day Care on route to/from work (roughly) or a local dog walker. The person I am ideally looking for would have other dogs (calm) and be comfortable keeping her behaviour addressed or have no dogs.
Is that you? Virtually every one that meets Ella agrees that she is delightful company.
