Details:
I don\'t want to spend my holidays in a kennel, and neither should my dog - after our move I am now looking to find a new holiday family for my lovely Cairn boy Nurmi (7).
He is reasonably obedient (as soon as he realises that you are in charge now - usually treats do the trick), loves children and horses, doesn\'t bark, and is very confident and active, if you want him to be.
He is very excited about meeting other dogs, but doesn\'t get on with every dog, so this would have to be tried out, if you have a dog yourself. Having said that, he loved my previous dog sitter\'s dog and they got on like a house on fire, as with any other dog that stayed there.
Unfortunately he has a few allergies, and therefore must strictly only eat his own food. Also, he requires eye-drops twice a day, which I put in before he gets his food, and he is absolutely brilliant at sitting still for that, he even turns his head so that I can put them in the other eye.
At the moment we haven\'t planned any holidays, partly also because I want to find a nice holiday home for Nurmi first. However, future requirements would be anything from a weekend to a two-week holiday. We live in a rented house, so I am not sure about a sitter coming to stay in our house, and would prefer if Nurmi could spend his holiday at your house. He is used to travelling and settles into a new place the second he goes through the door - definitely no separation anxiety!
