I am looking for daycare for my 8 month old Golden Retreiver (Archie). I have to be away approximately two days a week(it fluctuates) in order to travel up to London and/or Banbury and want to know that Archie is being well looked after, having fun, walks and sleep! I am flexible on which days of the week I have to be away.
Archie loves playing with other dogs and his training is coming along nicely. He walks beautifully on his lead (I'm amazed as my last Goldie was a real puller!).He sits and stays about 90% of the time (!), comes when he\'s called about 85% of the time (except when he sees another dog who he imagines surely wants to play !) but he does respond very well to the enticement of a treat which is great as this helps a lot! He is also getting much better at "fetch" and "drop" too. The emergency use of a sharp call of "LEAVE" also gets the required response pretty near 90% of the time.
He is slightly wary of people he doesn't know which my vet tells me is quite normal for a young dog - he gives a bark and backs away and doesn't want to be stroked, least of all on his head! Once he "knows" the person, he is fine especially if the person concerned isn't "trying" too hard.
