About Me/ Company
My name is Josh, I am a friendly, animal-loving, 20 year-old student, currently entering my third year studying English Literature at the University of Westminster. I have lived with dogs my entire life and absolutely adore them. I am passionate about animals of all kinds, so much so that I gave up eating meat when I was 9 years old and have lived without temptation ever since.
I am currently looking for a way to spend my time while I am free for the summer and I’d struggle to think of a better way than making new friends with dogs who are eager for attention and companionship.
Previous Experience
As previously stated, I have always shared a house with dogs. I feel like I have an excellent understanding of how they work and what they require to be happy. When I was very young, my grandparents (with whom I shared a house) owned a Yorkshire Terrier (Tessy). She was ageing and not very energetic but was very tolerant of two-year-old me pulling her hair. When I was a teenager, my mum agreed to buy me a dog on the understanding that she was my responsibility. Roxy (black Labrador) was one of my best friends. I fed her, walked her and trained her. She was a quick learner and very obedient (for me, anyway) and she learned all kinds of tricks, responding to both verbal and visual commands. She and I built a very strong relationship and when she died this summer (due to a long-standing medical condition which I can only guess stemmed from her previous home on a dog farm), I took it very hard.
Roxy taught me a lot. She taught me how to be responsible for the lives of others and she gave me a very good understanding of how dogs work. I understand your dog is as individual as any human and requires care tailored to him/her but I also know that every dog needs love and affection to keep them happy and I am more than able to provide them with that.
