About Me/ Company

I am fairly new to this as a full time dog walker.
I am just trying to be pro-active and see if it is at all possible for me to take this up as a full or part-time time profession.
As you can see from my profile. I do not have as yet Insurance or a suitable qualification.
These are things I am presently looking into, as I am taking this very seriously.
I was recently made redundant from my job that I held for 23 years.
I therefore have the time and capacity to walk anyone’s dog for them, either morning, afternoon, or evening. I do miss not having a dog to walk myself, as I did have a dog of my own.
I have had thoughts about the prospect of getting another dog myself. I am passionate about all animals. In fact I took in a stray cat several years ago, which I still have. Well actually he found me, cats are very shrewd like that. When I first had him, he was very skinny and undernourished. But I am happy to say he is now in very good health.
I am fully aware somebody more experienced and/or already set up as a reputable business with qualifications etc, has a far higher chance of building up potential clients on this site.
I am here as I said to see if it is at all feasible, that I could possibly make this my vocation. I am ultimately doing this for the right reasons and that is I know I am passionate about animals especially walking & caring for dogs. But of course at the same time hopefully making it a viable business and doing something I know will give me a lot of satisfaction too.
I am quite happy maybe to do a few walks to start with for free. So if you are content with the service I am providing, you will hopefully want to continue using me. It will also help me and give me even more experience and a very good starting point. Which may lead to building up more clients and hopefully will continue by word of mouth, as in my opinion is a more viable way of building this into a successful business.
I am sure if we were to meet up, then I am sure you are a good judgment of character and you can therefore see for yourself I am a good honest and trustworthy person who loves animals. Rest assure your dog will be treated as if it was my own. Anyway I do hope this gives you some insight about myself. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Previous Experience

I do have a reasonable amount of experience, I volunteered and did dog walking at Foal Farm dog shelter, which was about 8 years ago and lasted for about 18 months. Some dogs were more difficult to handle than others, as were either mistreated or abandoned. But gave me very good experience in understanding and dealing with the different behaviors’ of dogs and the best ways to handle them. I did have a dog of my own for about 2 years, as the owner had to emigrate to Australia. The dog was rather old when I became its owner, but he still required daily walking and exercise and cost me a lot of vet bills towards the end of his life. He was very ill & sadly he had to be put to sleep.
When I was in my teens I would take my neighbors dog for a walk regularly.
One of my friend’s dog I use to walk for them too, when I visited and when they were on holiday etc. In fact he would stay with me until they returned home.

Qualifications & Training

As I have stated previously I am at present looking into the best/reputable qualifications to study and obtain in this line of work.

Relevant Info

I am prepared to take out more than one dog at a time, but I have had very good advice that it maybe only suitable to take out no more than two dogs at any given time. I could also walk additional dogs separately. We could come to some arrangement when it comes to cost.

Other Services

Dog walking will be my main profession, but I will be considering and looking into dog sitting or looking after and feeding clients dog/s and/or cat/s if on they are away or on Holiday etc, if I can make this my full time vocation.
