About Me/ Company

Jazzy Dogs Professional Dog walking and Pet Care Service is an established business backed up by 15 years’ experience providing dog walking and pet care. Based in Hastings it is a family business run by Ian and Jane.
Ian was a design engineer for 25 years before retraining as a Design Technology teacher. He has worked in local secondary schools for 9 years but has now decided to turn the love of dogs and dog walking into a business. They say never work with animals or children – He has done both and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Jane enjoys meeting people and getting out in the fresh air. She has a background in managing care and support for the elderly and vulnerable stretching back 20 years. Over the years she has cared for a variety of pets from stick insects, rabbits, hamsters and cats to a bearded dragon.
We understand how much your pet means to you. We know that you need to have confidence in us to look after them with the same love and care that you do.
Registered with the Association of Professional Dog Walkers, fully insured and CRB checked, we pride ourselves in ensuring the welfare of your pet comes first.

Previous Experience

Over the past 15 years we have been walking our own dog and a variety of friends and neighbours dogs. We have looked after some of them for week long stays when their owners went on holiday and at times stayed in their houses while they are away. Over the years we have also cared for a variety of pets visiting houses to feed and water them during the day.

We have both got enhanced CRB checks to enable us to work with children and vulnerable adults.

Jazzy Dogs offer a professional dog walking service and take their responsibility for the environment seriously. We are lucky enough to spend a lot of our time in some fantastic countryside which is free for all to walk in and enjoy. Sadly at times this beautiful countryside can be spoilt by some unthinking people. As a thank you to all the landowners who allow us free access, we carry with us bags and committ to picking up litter as we walk your dog.

Dog waste
Responsible dog owners pick up after their dogs and we at Jazzy Dogs fully support this. We have signed Hastings Borough Councils “The Green Dog Walkers Pledge” and will ensure we clear up after the dogs we walk. There are a couple of areas for example the Woodland Trust’s Guestling woods that prefer walkers to use the “Stick and Flick” approach and we are happy to follow this method as well.

Transport
We realise that collecting and returning you dogs involves using a van but we cannot offer the services to you without it. We have invested in a fuel efficient van and make every effort to arrange walks so that we reduce the miles travelled to a minimum. We also try to tie in any comfort breaks in the area at the same time. It makes economic sense for us to do so and reduces our impact on the environment.

Other Services

We offer a wide range of services and are happy to tailor them to suit your particular needs. They include:-
Standard Dog Walking
Dogs need to get out in the fresh air and socialise with other dogs. We understand that your circumstances can change; work pressures, illness or unavoidable appointment can leave your dog frustrated, alone and bored at home. We can help you when your pet needs looking after. Our standard package includes collection from your home and transport to a local wood, heathland or beach for a walk with a maximum of four other dogs. Depending on the dog, these can be on or off lead. At the end of the walk dogs will be returned and cleaned up if they get too muddy.

Elite Dog Walking
Some dogs are more suited to an individual tailored walk. This can be in a location of your choice either in woods, parks or along the seafront. Some dogs do not like travelling in cars and we can walk them from your home if you wish. This service is ideal for more sensitive dogs or those that are nervous of other dogs. Elite walks can also cater for the more aggressive dog that would not be suitable for group walks.

Mature Dogs
We understand that older dogs have special requirements and just like us need to take things a bit easier at their age. Our transport is equipped with ramps to make getting in and out easier. The walks are slower paced with time to sit and rest along the way.

Accompanied Dog Walks
Perhaps you would like to join us for a walk in the woods. We are happy for you to accompany us on walks. Our standard rates apply but you would see your dog enjoying the company of others as you join us for a pleasant stroll.
 
Pet comfort and feeding
Sometimes pets will feel more settled in their home environment. Whatever the reason there are times you may be forced to leave them on their own for long periods. Our comfort and feeding service allows your pet to have human contact for feeding and for us to make a fuss of them. A short walk or let out in the garden for a run are included.

Pet and house sitting
A pop in visit may not be enough and you may wish for your dog to have company during the day for longer periods. We can stay in your property and provide both company for your pets and security for your home. Overnight stays can be arranged if required.

Pet boarding
We can offer both day and night boarding for your pets. They will be treated as part of the family and cared for with all the love we show to our own pets. Our home is dog friendly with a large secure garden which they can freely explore. We can tailor their care to your exact requirements; contact us to discuss your needs.

Pet taxi
Sometimes your pet may need to be transported for example to the vets or a grooming parlour. Our modern van is specially equipped to make these journeys safe and worry free. Its separate compartments ensure there is no risk of dogs becoming too excited and boisterous when we transport them.
