About Me/ Company

Hi!

I absolutely love animals and am looking for an opportunity to dog walk so I can get outdoors and stay active while working part time and working on my music and art career the rest of the time!

My family are extremely pet oriented (My gran for example has about 6 dogs at any given time, which can be hilarious, but on the serious side it has also got me very used to managing large herds of dogs on walks and in the home etc!). I have grown up with dogs and from a young age have always taken them out for walks often lasting around an hour or more and often in groups. (and yes this includes all the boring and/or rubbish stuff that comes along with it hashtag pooper scooper) I love the outdoors and just want a laid back way to make some extra money in my spare time and be able to get out more in nature. I have petsitted for friends and family for free, though I haven't made a living from doing it yet. I know a very lovely girl who has been doing it a while in Bath and the idea recently dawned on me it could be a great alternative way to make some extra cash for music. So here I am!

I'm interested in providing fun on walks out, giving them a great time and bonding with them (not just walking them and taking them home!) I want them to feel they can trust me, and that the owners can too as I would want the same for my own animals! I usually bond very well with all kinds of animals, and am used to a bit of trouble every now and again if they prove to be cheeky! I would aim to build a bond with your animal, as opposed to just taking them out for a basic walk and bring them home etc. On walks I'd definitely engage them with as many playful games as possible whilst out (or if they are quieter, just let them do their own thing!) and would probably aim to go on long walks (around an hour, obviously subject to your permission!) so that they can go on a real adventure (and tire themselves out!) My approach to handling animals in terms of discipline is assertive yet gentle (for example when calling them back to go home or when they misbehave - which animals sometimes can do!!) which proves to be successful. I am very patient and would never lose my rag with an animal let alone somebody else's, but know how to be firm when instructing animals. (This also means absolutely NO hitting, or over the top yelling at your beloved animal!!). If your pet needs special attention or a specific way of handling them, or any other specific needs that you want me to carry out on walks I'm totally happy to discuss this with you as well.

If you chose me as your petsitter you can rest assured your pet is would be in very safe hands with me. I'm very easy to get on with and caring by nature and as long as your pet is reasonably well behaved on a lead I would be very happy to take your pet out for walks on a regular basis!

Previous Experience

Previous responsibilities and experience include with children on a work placement as a teaching assistant, often involving taking responsibility for the care of the class inside and outside the classroom. Iv'e also had experience working, grooming, managing and generally looking after horses at a medium sized stable. Numerous times growing up and recently, I have looked after the family dogs, many times in groups, taking them out once a day for long walks, usually at least an hour. Have also had experience working with disabled people helping them with everyday life and also have a clear criminal record. Family life has been very animal and caring orientated!
