Welcome to homely pets
Homely pets is based in Skipton and provides qualified pet care services for Craven, Ilkley and the surrounding areas.

Services include home from home dog boarding, cat care visits, administering medication, dog day care visits, dog walking and care of small pets. I welcome all types of pets but specialise in the care of animals that need that extra love, attention or nursing care - young or elderly pets, pets with medical conditions and pets recovering from illness, injury or surgery.

Homely pets is run by a qualified veterinary nurse who delivers a professional and reliable pet care service for your pet whilst you are away from home for the day or longer. It is a friendly, less stressful alternative to kennels and catteries for your pet and whether you are away on holiday or business, working overtime or in hospital you can rest assured your pet is being cared for according to your wishes.

Previous Experience

I started house-sitting and boarding dogs in my own home for family, friends and colleagues over twenty years ago and since then more and more pet owners are asking if I can look after their pet so homely pets was officially established.

I am an animal lover who has lived and worked with animals all my life. Raised on a farm caring for a variety of animals I then qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1990 and have worked in local veterinary practices for over twenty years. I was also the animal care co-ordinator at Craven College for ten years whilst still working in practice. Always keen to learn more about animals I gained a Certificate in Basic Instructional Techniques, 2nd Grade from the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers and trained as a Pets as Therapy Assessor. I have also recently undertaken an Animal-Assisted Interventions (AAI) course with the Society for Companion Animal Studies (SCAS), studying the therapeutic potential of companion animals.
